Ever wondered what a drop scone tastes like freshly cooked from a Victorian range? Come to one of our Bake Back in Time events at the Museum and taste one! You will have the opportunity to talk to our resident historic cook Laura as she tells you about cookery from the Victorian times as well as sample a range of cakes and bakes. Laura will be cooking her way through the 1880’s edition of Mrs Beeton’s Shilling Cookery so there will be something different to try at each event. Previous menus have included caraway seed cake and baked lemon pudding.
Bake Back in Time is free with general admission and visitors can drop in at any time from 11:00-3:00pm.
