Bake Back in Time
Ever wondered what a drop scone tastes like freshly cooked from a Victorian range?
Come to one of our Bake Back in Time events at the Museum and taste one! You will have the opportunity to talk to our resident historic cook as she tells you about cookery from the Victorian times. You will also have an opportunity to sample a range of cakes and bakes.
Previous treats have included Easter biscuits, hot cross buns, baked carrot pudding, steamed plum pudding, caraway seed cake and drop scones fresh from the Museum’s very own Victorian range! Visitors are able to watch the demonstration and then try the dishes themselves. Tea is also served in the basement as part of the event

Bake Back in Time is free with normal admission.
Drop-in any time from 11am-3pm.
