We are extremely pleased to be part of the 2017 Cotswold Hare Trail.
The Holst Hare as we have affectionately named him is now stood proudly at the entrance to the museum. The artist Simon Morriss has taken a natural approach with fur for the head, tail and feet but dressed the hare in conductor’s clothing, taking inspiration from the Holst statue in Montpellier.
The link to Holst is through his coat with reference to Holst’s best known work The Planets Suite, both in illustrating the planets and including some musical notation.
You can’t help but notice the hare, as he is striking and a welcome addition to the front garden. We hope that all of our visitors enjoy seeing him on the way into the museum and be sure to tag us on Facebook and Twitter with your Holst Hare selfies
