‘Tea is much more than a mere drink in Britain, it is a solace, mystique, way of life, almost a religion.’
Thursday, 28th January 2021, 6.30pm
Now that we’re locked down again, here’s an online event to cheer us up on a dark January evening! We are delighted to present another talk in the series by Lits, our resident food and wine expert following his engaging presentations on Victorian Wining and Dining, Gin and Christmas.
So let’s share a cuppa & embark on a Tea tour!
The delicate leaves of ‘Camellia Sinensis’ have triggered wars, kick-started revolutions, inspired academics and dominated industries but tea really took off in Victorian times. Join Lits to explore the colourful history, origins and secrets of our iconic national drink.
The talk will last about an hour, including time for questions at the end. As before, the talk will be held on Zoom, and after purchasing your ticket, you will receive a confirmation email which will include the link for the talk. NB You will find the link by scrolling down to ‘Additional Information’ at the bottom of the email, and also in the Event Information section of the pdf attachment.
Tickets at £5 plus booking fee are available at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/tea-an-exploration-of-britains-national-drink-tickets-135412280777
Do join us for what promises to be an enlightening evening!
With best wishes for the New Year
